Facility: CEC - CANORA HOSPITAL
Job Description: Emergency Medical Technicians ("EMTs") report to the Director of Emergency Medical Services and when on site in a facility to the designated Supervisor/Charge Nurse / Facility Manager.  EMTs provide direct pre-hospital, emergency and patient care.  They assist in cooperation with the operations of the facilities they serve within the Sunrise Health Region.

EMTs working in Hospitals, Health Centers or any other Sunrise Health facility across Sunrise Health Region work in a supra-numary capacity.  They may work in many departments within these facilities.  

EMTs shall abide by the Sunrise Health Region and its Affiliates Mission, Vision, Values, Policies and Procedures.

Required Qualifications

Valid Class 4 drivers license
Clean Driver's Abstract
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the PCP/EMT level
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) - Basic
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP)
CPR-HCP (Level C)
CMA Accredited Pre-Hospital Care Program at the Primary Care Paramedic (PCP/EMT) level
EMT (PCP) certificate from an approved educational institute.
GAP Training to NOCP 2011 Standards
Experience
Ability to respond to all client's medical injuries and illnesses.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to adapt to changing conditions
Ability to work with people in a health care environment with professionalism and respect
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
