Do you have a passion for news? The ability to create content on multiple platforms? And the drive to keep up with an ever-changing industry? The Jim Pattison Broadcast Group, the dominant online news source in central and northern Saskatchewan, has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Editor based in Prince Albert, SK.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of our news operation, assisting in web posting and editing, general reporting and on-air work as required.
Job Description:
* Edit and upload stories to our websites
* Generate original story ideas
* Move our stories seamlessly to all social media platforms
* Take original photographs and videos for news use
* Some radio broadcasting and general reporting may be required
Requirements:
* Broadcast/Journalism diploma is essential
* Minimum 1-2 years in journalism
* Very strong written and grammar skills (knowledge of CP style)
* Able to adapt under pressure, work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines
* Strong news judgement/journalistic integrity
* Video journalism and photography skills an asset
* Self-starter who works well in a team environment
* Valid drivers license
* Experience in on-air news broadcast would be beneficial but not necessary
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
