Description

Assignment and Term:
This position is a permanent (10 month) part-time position of 4 hours per school day at Dr. Brass School with the potential of an additional 3 hours per day at M.C. Knoll School (located in Yorkton).  This position commences on August 23, 2018.  The work schedule will be from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and rest periods will be scheduled in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement.

The duties of a Library Technician are to provide library services to students and staff; operate and maintain the library system to circulate library materials, generate reports and complete inventory checks; catalogue all library resources; organize, maintain and update all materials in the library collection; perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designate and those listed in Job Description  Library Technician.

The successful candidate will have at minimum a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.  Acute attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to work as a team member will be considered assets.  As a condition of employment, all permanent employees are required to have completed a diploma or certificate in a post-secondary course related to a library program.  If a permanent employee has not completed the appropriate training, he or she will be required to provide proof of enrollment in an approved post-secondary program within six (6) months of their permanent status.

Salary and Benefits:
The successful candidate will be paid on a monthly basis at an hourly rate from $17.07 - $22.25 plus applicable vacation pay.  Benefits include participation in the Saskatchewan School Board Association (SSBA) Employee Benefits Plan, the Municipal Employees' Pension Plan and opportunities to attend professional development seminars.
