Hours of Work: 3-15 hrs per week, as needed
Reports To: Reports to and accepts direction from the Executive Director
Nature of the Position:
Provide early childhood education care and supervision during programs and special events.
Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children as set out by the program.
Oversee safety and educational programs; supervise children at ARCA and other facilities or locations as required; provide a supportive environment in which children can learn and practice appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviours.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Promote and support healthy lifestyles for Al Ritchie residents.
Promote the Al Ritchie Community Association and all programs and services.
Works closely with program facilitators.
Knowledge of:
Running family programming; preference given to those with Early Childhood and/or Community Development background.
Awareness of issues relevant to inner-city communities IE: families of vulnerability including fixed incomes, food security, isolation, housing & crime.
Culturally sensitive
Experience:
Working with and supervising children
Community profile (families with challenging life circumstances)

Qualifications:
Certified in Standard First Aid and CPR B (minimum)
