Position and Responsibilities
You will provide geo-environmental expertise to assess reclamation and decommissioning alternatives for Saskatchewan mining and milling operations. The work will primary involve reviewing and compiling existing information from historical records but could also include some site-based field investigation.
This is a temporary opportunity for approximately five months with the potential to be extended.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
Bachelors degree in geological, environmental or civil engineering or a Bachelors degree in earth or environmental science
Three to five years of relevant work experience
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
You must be eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
Assets:
Experience in performing earthen material quantity take-offs and estimates from surface maps and design drawings
Experience in developing and conducting life-cycle mass balances and trade-off studies
Good working knowledge of Surfer contouring and 3D surface mapping software
Experience in air photo interpretation and environmental site assessments
Knowledge of waste management facility decommissioning best practices
