Kova Engineering is a diverse and unique engineering and consulting company in the crane and lift equipment industry. We are looking for a Junior Engineer to join our Saskatoon team.
A Junior Engineer prepares calculations, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and related technical information for Senior Engineers in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards. Typical job duties include:
- Confirming drawings meet applicable codes, standards, regulations, and formats.
- Verifying calculations, dimensions, and technical elements are complete and accurate.
- Creating, analyzing, and interpreting Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models using Autodesk Simulation.
- Performing, analyzing, and interpreting manual calculations using Excel and MathCAD.
- Drafting reports detailing calculations and model interpretations.
- Preparing engineering procedures and repair recommendations.
- Travel to job sites in Saskatchewan and Manitoba to sketch, photograph, and measure existing equipment and structures as well as witness and document onsite testing.
- Working with project managers to determine and meet project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Occasionally working at heights and in confined spaces.
Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
- Registration with APEGS as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training.
- Proficiency in computer use with knowledge of Autodesk Simulation and Microsoft Office.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to customer service.
- Valid driver's license
A masters degree in a related engineering discipline would be considered an asset.
