Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations,coordinate and manage the activities related to the Post-Secondary, K-12, Employment & Training Services and Summer Student Programs.
Responsibilities:
Provide Post-Secondary, K-12, Employment and Training services to members
Collect and disseminate information regarding training and employment opportunities
Provide information regarding PSE policies and procedures
Assist in the completion of applications for post-secondary institutions
Present the Committee with a complete profile of all student applications
Maintain an effective relationship with the nearby educational institutions
Be familiar with other funding agencies for referrals
Submitting statistical and narrative reports as assigned by the DO and Chief & Council
Assist with budget preparation
Maintain accurate student records
Oversee the Guidance Counselor position
Ensure all reporting requirements are met for funding agencies related to the Education and Training Programs
Other duties as may be assigned by the Director
Requirements:
Possess at minimum an Office Administration Certificate or a related combination of education and experience
Demonstrate a working knowledge of First Nation education programs
Sound knowledge of how a band is operated
Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with students, C&C, committee members, staff, and external agencies
Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and possess excellent time management skills
Possess the ability to take direction and work with minimum supervision
Possess excellent writing skills and able to: transcribe minutes, agendas, draft memos, motions, band council resolutions, and policies
Chair the education meetings, in the absence of the chairperson
Organized, punctual, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality
Competent in the use of computers and office software
