The Public Works & Utilities Department provides an essential service for the Town of Wadena. This department manages our water & wastewater facilities, municipal infrastructure, vehicles and equipment. The testing and tracking, maintenance, servicing and repair of these are of the utmost importance to ensure the safety and well being of our residents and visitors.
This posting is for a position within the Public Works & Utilities Department. This full-time permanent position includes a variety of water and waste water treatment, equipment operation, and other tasks. Preference will be given to those who are willing to obtain training and complete water and sewer certification.
Qualifications Include:
-A great work ethic and good public relations skills.
-Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
-Previous experience in road repair, maintenance, water and wastewater treatment and
distribution is an asset.
-Previous experience with operating, servicing and repairing machinery and equipment also
an asset.
-Demonstrated ability to follow approved policies and procedures.
-Valid class 5 driver's license; Class 5A not required, but an asset. Driver's abstract required.
-Ability to work with minimal supervision.
-Decision-making and critical thinking skills.
-Available to work flexible and varying hours of work, as well as some on-call hours, as may
be required.
