Description

SED Systems specializes in developing complex hardware and software products and systems for cable, telecommunications, satellite communications, and defense applications. The business operates as an autonomous division of Calian Group Ltd. a publicly traded company whose shares are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol TSX:CGY.

Reporting to the Vice President, Communication Products Manager, the Product Line Manager will join the team in:

    Developing product concepts;
    Managing product lifecycles;
    Overseeing the development of products;
    Assisting with gathering product requirements from the market;
    Identifying and developing new business opportunities and potential customers, devising strategies to capture identified opportunities, preparing solicited and unsolicited proposals, and verifying cost estimates;
    Developing business cases for new and existing product development/evolution;
    Evolving product lines via the development of new product features and enhancements;
    Maintaining close liaison with existing customers to promote customer satisfaction and foster new business opportunities; and,
    Managing project teams including: Establishing schedule and budget requirements; Monitoring and controlling progress; Providing accurate and timely internal and external reporting; and, Administering contracts with customer and suppliers.

This position will be of interest to candidates with the following qualifications:
    A solid technical background, ideally in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or Computer Science with a minimum of 3 years work experience, or a combination of education and experience is required;
    Demonstrated team building skills coupled with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; and,
    Experience in a related industry is considered an asset.
