Job Description: The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an expert clinical practitioner who integrates experience, skills and knowledge from nursing theory and principles of adult learning in the provision and management of direct client/patient/resident care, assessment of needs, clinical problem solving, and client/patient/resident and staff education. The CNS will contribute to the development of knowledge and the improvement of practice for an identified client population. This will be accomplished through the demonstration of leadership, the implementation and application of best practices, the provision of clinical consultation/services and the development of healthy interdependent partnerships with essential stakeholders. The CNS will undertake and participate in research for an identified population.
Required Qualifications

CNA Certification in clinical practice area
Masters Degree in Nursing with clinical specialization appropriate to practice area
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Instructor certification in applicable certification programs
Experience
Requires 5 years recent full time experience in clinical area.
Demonstrated expertise in the practice area.
Demonstrated skill in teaching staff, clients/patients/residents and other care providers.
Experience in research, quality monitoring and evaluation.
