The Intervention Worker will work with a Case Manager at one of the 4 CUMFI Supported Living Homes to support individuals with a philosophy of building on strengths and supporting challenges. This position will require team work and general office duties to provide community support services to clients who have been involved in a high risk lifestyle. This position reports to the Executive Director/Directors.
-Assist Case Managers with client intake and clients who have lived in a high risk lifestyle, opening a file, collecting information
-Foster a team approach with the other staff
-Assist Case Managers to support emergency intake clients and clients who have lived a high risk lifestyle to create stability
-Assist in the implementation of support/case plans
-Assist in accessing community resources
-Monitor visitors and ensure that the environment is drug and alcohol free
-Oversee and witness client taking their medication(s)
-Book transportation to and from appointments, transportation of their children to and from home visits, school, social activities and as required
-Schedule childcare for clients and assist with childcare when required
-Schedule all in house programming plus programming with other related agencies
-Day to day intervention notes of clients
-Provided administrative duties i.e. incoming mail, faxes, answering phones
-Other duties assigned by Director(s)
-Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related education and experience
-Extensive knowledge/experience with all sectors including justice, mental health and addictions, family services, income support, education and health
This is a casual/part time position
-Experience working with individuals and families who have been involved in a high risk lifestyle
-Current First Aid and CPR certificates or a willingness to take required training to receive certification
-Knowledge and understanding of the history of Aboriginal peoples and their socio-economic backgrounds
