As the Senior Technologist, Regional Systems, you will undertake operation and maintenance work within an assigned regional water and wastewater system. You will perform required laboratory, field testing, and water and wastewater sampling throughout the regional water and wastewater systems as well as preparing status reports and technical documents. You will perform calibration, operation and maintenance of on-line analyzing equipment; install system works, service connections, and undertake manhole, pipeline and valve maintenance. You will work different shifts and be required to be the (DRC) Certified Operator for the region.
To qualify, you will have a Diploma in Water Resources Engineering Technology or a similar technical discipline, and have three years of related experience including a working knowledge of water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment processes. You will also be certified with Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT) as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.). In accordance with the Water and Wastewater Operator Certification Program, certification in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection and Wastewater Treatment must at a minimum meet the facility level of certification for the district. You are an honest, dependable and accountable individual who focuses on work activities, looks for solutions and is a skilled troubleshooter. You are also a team player who promotes positive work relationships.
Special Requirements: The position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and a Fit for Duty Test.
