Description

Position Overview
The Welder reports to the Welding Foreman and works closely with the plant manager, foremen and plant staff to effectively fulfill his/her responsibilities. Both day and night shifts currently available.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the quality of worked performed.
Responsible for participating in training sessions.
Responsible for completing assigned projects in an efficient, timely and safe manner.
Responsible for participating in the safety program.
Responsible for proper care and maintenance of the building, property and assets.
Responsible for positively representing WRT Equipment.
Responsible for understanding and participating in the quality management system and its objectives.
Responsible for identifying and reporting non-conformances.

Duties
Ensure the shop is kept clean and tidy on a regular basis.
Inspect components for conformance to drawings.
Prepare all joints for welding.
Layout and fit up of components (fitter).
Read and comprehend drawings (fitter).
Complete welding of components according to procedures.
Check welded components for conformance to drawing.
Grind and clean welds as required.
Work safely being mindful of others and their safety as well.
Report to his foreman or the production manager as required.
Be willing to work in other areas of production as the need arises.
Follow all procedures involved with the quality management system and actively participate in them.
Take part in in-process inspections.

Requirements
Must have at least two years experience at welding.
All welding personnel must complete and pass a flat groove GMAW test coupon (see test manual) as a minimum requirement for employment at WRT Equipment.
More tests will be administered as required.
Blue print reading is required.
Must hold and maintain a valid class 5 drivers license.
Ability to work alone or in a team setting.
Ability to take on multiple projects at one time.
Detail oriented.
