Description

Moose Jaw Transition House (MJTH) is seeking a motivated, results-oriented & strategic leader to fill the role of Executive Director (ED).
The ED is responsible for the overall management of MJTH, including: program development & delivery, financial & facility management, human resource management, grant applications & external relations & for implementation of Board policy consistent with the mission & goals of the organization. Reporting to the Board, the ED has the authority to direct implementation of the organizations programs & services. The position is out of scope & is responsible for the management of all House staff & volunteers.
Our candidate shall possess the following:
- Related Bachelor degree or a combination of relevant education & experience
- Understanding of & an empathy for those experiencing family violence issues.
- Understanding of relevant legislation covering community based organizations, labour standards, OH&S legislation & the Non-profit Corporations Act.
- Demonstrated experience in developing & maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders including donors, government, business, & other community based organizations.
- Management experience in a unionized environment including collective bargaining & conflict resolution.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership skills and written & verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with a board of directors.
- The ability to think strategically & experience in strategic planning.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, office systems & policy development.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite & Social Media
The ED is required to have a valid drivers license. The successful candidate will be subject to a Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment.
