Young woman (age 25) with a physical disability requires a PART-TIME Personal Care Worker/Companion for evenings and weekends.  Seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual who has experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or education in the field.  Successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the young woman engage in daily life; including time at home (lives with family), outings in the community (shopping, movies, coffee, lunch dates, etc) and attending Astonished Programming (see www.beingastonished.com.)  Duties will include personal care (transfers, bath, physio, dressing, meals and other duties).  Successful applicant may be required, at times, to drive family accessible van and, at other times, accompany young woman on Paratransit.
Preference will be given to those individuals with post secondary in related field (Kinesiology, Social Work, Education, Psych, Nursing)
Previous experience with regard to persons with disAbilities
Ability to establish and maintain effective and positive relationships
Enthusiastic, takes initiative, self-motivated
Excellent organizational & communications skills
Ability to motivate, make decisions & problem solve
Possess a valid drivers license
Clear criminal record check
Provide current references
CPR and TLR training required
