We are looking for a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals according to menu for approximately 50-70 people per day, 1 meal per day.
-Must have valid drivers licence
-Must have safe food handling
-Follow Canada's Food Guide when preparing meals
-Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
-Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat)
-Ensure that everyone always uses gloves when preparing food
-Develop recipes and menus, be economical as possible
-Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
-Ensure that the food is cooked thoroughly and consistently check food while cooking
-Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
-Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
-Check quality of ingredients; consistently check for expired items
-Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages; work with Coordinator with food purchases, etc.
-Must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important
-Work with Outreach Coordinator to ensure that the cost of the food stays within the budget allowed
-Able to get along with others and able to work with clients as they like to offer help where needed
-Be non-judgemental of clients
-Be able to take direction from Outreach Coordinator
-Other duties as assigned by Coordinator, Health Director and Chief and Council
-Submit to drug test
Travel Allowance of 125.00 per month
