The Town of Assiniboia is seeking a full-time permanent operator for its Water Treatment Plant.

The Town of Assiniboia is a team oriented organization currently seeking to add a new member to serve as a Water Treatment Plant Operator in our Class 3 Facility.
Preference will be shown to those
Applicants that possess MINIMUM certifications of:

Water Treatment Level III
Water Distribution Level II
Waste Water Collection Level II
Waste Water Treatment Level I
COPIES OF CERTIFICATES REQUIRED

In addition to the above certifications, applicants must have a valid drivers license in good standing evidenced by a current copy of drivers abstract.  You must have computer skills, be highly organized and have good record keeping skills.  Must be able to effectively provide and receive communication in the English language, both written and verbal.  A criminal record check is required.  Previous experience working in a local government environment in a municipal water treatment plant is preferred.

Responsibilities include:  water testing, record keeping, maintenance of water treatment plant, pump houses and equipment, maintenance of lift station and lagoon operations, regular communication with Water Security Agency personnel as well as other duties.

Specific Skills
 - Wear and use Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment
 - Transport and mix chemicals, and operate equipment used to unload chemicals
 - Read recording instruments to measure output and consumption levels, bacterial content, chlorine and fluoride levels
 - Perform maintenance and repairs to plant machinery or equipment
 - Patrol plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators and other plant equipment
 - Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment to regulate the treatment and distribution of water
 - Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment to regulate the flow of sewage and to treat and dispose of sewage and wastes
 - Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and to ensure plant systems are operating normally
 - Monitor and read recording instruments to detect equipment malfunctions and ensure plant systems and equipment are operating within prescribed limits
 - Make adjustments to plant equipment and systems
 - Maintain chemical feed stocks
 - Complete and maintain plant logs and reports
 - Collect waste and sewage samples, test and analyze results
 - Collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content
 - Analyze test results and instrument readings
