Description

Kanuka Thuringer LLP is now accepting applications for two full time legal administrative assistants in various departments.

The successful candidates will present themselves in a professional manner and be extremely attentive to detail, adaptable, and motivated. Candidates will also possess strong organizational skills, the ability to learn quickly, and have solid computer skills along with an excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.  Spelling, grammar and proofreading skills are core skills in this area of legal work.  Previous experience in the banking or real estate sector would be helpful however direct legal experience is not necessary. An educational background in general office administration is also beneficial. In addition, applicants must have demonstrable skills in WORD and EXCEL and the flexibility to work with a variety of law departments.  

The position will involve responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:
-transcribing documents from dictation
-preparation of legal documents, letters, memos, court documents, etc.
-maintaining electronic and paper filing systems
-conducting web searches
-effectively communicating with clients, lawyers, and other staff members
-multi-tasking and prioritizing numerous tasks in order to meet deadlines
