Description

The Edam Early Learning Centre is a newly founded daycare facility and non-profit organization.
Two Part-time employee positions are available with potential full time opportunity for one worker.  Hours will vary between 15 and 40 hours per week depending on applicant availability and staffing needs.
Applicants must work well with children, have good communication and organizational skills, be dependable and punctual.
Start Date: November 1, 2018 or earlier

Responsibilities:
Provide nurturing care for children; implement routines and schedules;  groom, feed, and change diapers, as well as help children maintain proper hygiene.
Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including toys to provide a sanitary and safe environment.
Develop and encourage age appropriate learning and socialization to help children learn basic skills and concepts such as communication, manners, etc.
Plan and develop childcare programs and activities.
Maintain a safe workplace by monitoring children for health, behavioral and emotional issues and report concerns to Director and/or parents, as well as keep confidential.
Aid children to discover new interests by introducing them to art, music, sports, and other social activities.
Promote positive behavior and provide guidance or approved discipline as needed.
Maintain records and communications related to child care.
Work with parents to help children progress towards specific educational and behavioral goals.
Prepare snacks and organize mealtimes.
Other duties as outlined by Director.

Training & Qualifications:
A Child Care Certificate is an asset but not necessary.  If you are willing to complete training to receive certification, we will work with you to do so.
Criminal record and vulnerability check, must be current within the past six months.
Valid First Aid/CPR.
