The Position:

Technologists conduct prescribed tests, evaluate engineering documentation and develop manufacturing documentation, and improve shop floor efficiency through development and implementation of techniques, processes, and equipment.

Responsibilities:

-Conduct tests following prescribed procedures
-Troubleshoot to the component level
-Document problems found in test
-Ensure defective components are repaired correctly and repairs are carried out efficiently
-Repair customer equipment both at SED and on site
-Document and implement processes for assembly area
-Specify and/or fabricate tools, fixtures, jigs, consumables, etc.
-Assist in maintenance of equipment/fixtures
-Assist engineering and senior personnel in assembly and test of prototypes, engineering development models, and test fixtures
-Review engineering designs and documentation for manufacturability.

The Person:

The position will be of interest to candidates well acquainted with troubleshooting techniques gained from either several years of on-the-job experience or a two-year electronics technology course from a recognized technical institute. The ability to work well in a team environment is required.  

The ability to obtain a Secret security clearance and meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program is mandatory.
