We are currently seeking out a financial controller to undertake responsibility for the coordination and execution of various financial and administrative functions within the Broda Group. General description of accountability (not all inclusive)
Management
Supervision of accounting and administration operating functions
Maintenance of a documented system of accounting policies
Maintenance of a system of effective controls
Administration of orderly record keeping and appropriate recording of transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards
Transactions
Processing of payroll and employee benefits transactions
Recording and payment of suppliers, business taxes and other accounts payable
Recording and collection of accounts receivable
Preparation of bank reconciliations
Identification of required period end adjustments and accruals
Reporting
Preparation of period end financial reporting packages and project costing reports
Completion of financial analysis as needed regarding various operating metrics and pricing decisions
Regulatory
Ensure compliance with municipal, provincial and federal government entity reporting requirements and tax filings
Desired Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting or business administration
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
In-depth understanding of Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises
Previous experience in a senior financial accounting role
Familiarity with project costing
Proficiency with accounting or ERP software as well as Microsoft Office suite
