Description

The Finance Manager reports to the Executive Director. The Finance Manager is responsible for maintaining financial, accounting, and administrative services to support Agency Chiefs Child and Family Services (ACCFS) operations. The Finance Manager is responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining cash controls, payroll department, vendors, accounts payable and accounts receivable. The Finance Manager will also engage in financial analysis in areas such as forecasting, budgeting, variance reports, cost reduction and operational performance. The Finance Manager must work within the Financial Management Act and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); and, must be knowledgeable in provincial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all Federal and Provincial acts and legislation.

o Accounting designation would be considered an asset (e.g. CPA, CA)
Experience in using Xyntax accounting software would be considered an asset
Experience working with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Ministry of Social Services (MSS) would be considered an asset

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Maintain a clear CPIC with Vulnerable Sector Check
Maintain a class 5 driver's license and a reliable vehicle
Maintain Confidentiality  must sign an Oath of Confidentiality annually
Preference given to Aboriginal Ancestry under E-96 of the Human Rights Code
WORKING CONDITIONS
Office Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Non-standard hours (evenings and weekends) may be required
Travelling is required.
Sitting for long periods of time
High stress workplace due to tight deadlines and heavy workloads
May have exposure to trauma informed content as it relates to Child Welfare
