Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Environment Division is seeking a Technologist to assist in the aquatic toxicology testing facility. This is a 13-month term position.
Accountabilities
Conduct aquatic toxicity tests according to standardized test methods
Assist in developing written protocols and more efficient methods
Ensure quality assurance requirements of ISO 17025 are followed in all laboratory operations
Perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Ensure organisms are kept healthy and maintained appropriately
Ensure laboratory is maintained in a neat and orderly manner
Qualifications
Technical diploma in biotechnology and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to work weekends as required
Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to use innovative solutions and creative thinking to solve laboratory problems and improve processes
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
