Description

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will play an interactive and advisory role for various levels of leadership and employees across the organization.  The Human Resources Advisor will provide guidance and support in several areas of human resources that include talent acquisition, employee and labour relations, training & development, compensation, pension, benefits, and disability, health and safety, and organizational design.

Key responsibilities include:

Act as a resource for management, supervisors and employees as it relates to policies and best practices
Assist with the delivery of new company programs and initiatives, and support employee inquiries as needed
Develop, integrate, implement and review HR policies
Provide coaching and support to supervisors and employees by referencing any pertinent collective agreement or legislation guidelines, and refer appropriate situations to management
Lead the talent acquisition process including job descriptions, postings, screening applications, conducting interviews, preparing offer letters and coordinating and conducting new hire orientation with support of supervisors and management
Gather data, prepare monthly/quarterly/annual HR metrics and analyze
Assist with conflict resolution, investigations, and provide recommendations
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the HR program
Investigate, analyze and coordinate training programs for all employees based on workforce planning, succession planning and development needs of the organization

Education and Qualifications

A CPHR designation is considered an asset
Knowledge of labour relations, collective agreements and human resource best practices in a unionized environment
Dependable and team-oriented with a history of being able to work independently
Strong organizational communication, interpersonal, decision-making and analytical skills
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office
