Description

The Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC) in Regina, Saskatchewan is a leader in the development of enhanced oil recovery and carbon dioxide storage demonstration projects.  With world-leading field trials like the Weyburn-Midale CO2 Monitoring and Storage Project, Aquistore, and the Joint Implementation of Vapour Extraction (JIVE) Project under our belts, PTRC has directly impacted western Canadian oil field operators and the international carbon capture and storage community.  In 2017, we set a goal that by 2022, the Province of Saskatchewan is to realize 5 billion additional barrels of reserves from existing oil-in-place in the most efficient and the most environmentally responsible means possible.
