Description

The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, North Battleford District Operations, is seeking an Equipment Operator for the Biggar Section. As a member of the Section Crew you will operate, service and maintain heavy equipment such as tandem trucks with hydrodrum, spinner and snowplow attachments, motor graders and front-end loaders. You will perform various highway maintenance functions in the summer and snow and ice removal in the winter months. You will keep records and logs of hours of operation, repairs and amounts of materials applied to highways and, in the absence of the supervisor, you may be assigned supervisory responsibilities. You will work under extreme and changing climate conditions and must be willing to travel and work flexible hours. You must be able and willing to work in physically demanding conditions and perform physical labour, heavy lifting, and climbing.  As a member of a team who ensures public safety, you will have the opportunity to work with new and advanced technologies and equipment.

To qualify for this position you must hold a valid class 3A drivers license with the ability to upgrade to class 1A within six months of appointment to this position.
