Job Description: The Transport Nurse has responsibility for total Patient Care during inter and intra-hospital transport including complete physical assessment and performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as necessary. Attending prompt calls and Pediatric Code Blue as backup for pediatric residents or as primary resuscitator. Develops and maintains a quality improvement program for pediatric transport and transport advance practice Nursing. Provides support and guidance to Nurses and Pediatric Residents in the designated practice environment. Responsible for the assessment, establishment, maintenance, evaluation and updating the clinical standards of care for the pediatric transport program. Assist PICU staff in delivery of Nursing care when not involved in transport.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification in Transfer of Function
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Experience
2 YEARS RECENT FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT NURSING EXPERIENCE IN PEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE INCLUDING PICU CHARGE NURSE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
