The IT Supervisor will provide leadership, support & coordination on all matters related to the technology component of the school division.
Responsibilities
Works as a member of the Technology Team to develop & coordinate the school division's Strategic Technology Plan
Communicates with schools /administrators regarding technology
Communicates with outside agencies such as the Ministry of Education & SaskTel
Plans for effective infrastructure to meet Division technology needs in conjunction with the Superintendent of Technology, Facilities Supervisor & IT Manager
Coordinates budget & purchasing
Provides leadership & direction for a team of IT staff
Supervises the work & evaluates the performance of IT staff
Supports the growth of the IT staff through the creation of professional growth plans & emerging PD opportunities
Supports the goal of integrating technology in all areas of learning
Provides leadership & expertise in the development of e-business infrastructure for the exchange of data & dissemination of information between the division office & schools
Collaborates with IT staff & the Superintendents of Business & Education regarding technology matters & initiatives
Qualifications
Degree, diploma or certificate in a discipline related to information technology or relevant work experience in managing projects & staffing
Supervisory experience & project management experience would be a significant asset
Ability to work independently & as a team member of the Technology department, all schools & the division office as required
Ability to develop & maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff within the school system, with local & provincial organizations; & with a broad cross section of the local community
Familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem is an asset
Develop, convey & carry out oral & written communication skills
Some travel is required.
