Description

Under the direction and supervision of the Family Resource Center Coordinator and the KidsFirst NORTH Program Manager the successful candidate will:
1)Connect families with resources by offering information and referrals
2)Provide ongoing regular community programming focused on parenting education, early learning, family wellness & support and culture
3)Promote healthy early childhood development
4)Foster community and stakeholders relationships
5)Coordinate initiatives outlined in the Sandy Bay Family Resource Center Program Plan

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The applicant must:
Possess good interpersonal skills
Be culturally sensitive
Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
Be self-motivated and able to work independently
Conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to the policies and procedures of KidsFirst NORTH
Build partnerships with key stakeholders
Maintain confidentiality
Have strong computer skills
Have knowledge of child development and family dynamics
Demonstrate the ability to relate to families undergoing high degrees of stress
Have the ability to handle high stress and an emotionally demanding work environment
Have a minimum of an ECE Certificate and 3 years experience in a related field and/or equivalent combined education and experience. Applicants with a Human Service Degree are also encouraged to apply.
Have a valid drivers license, clear drivers abstract and access to a reliable vehicle
Have the ability to travel extensively
Be able to work flexible hours (daytime, early evenings and weekends)
The ability to speak and/or understand Cree is an asset
