Description

MAIN FUNCTION
Develop, manage and supervise preparation of building designs, cost estimates, specifications, ACAD drawings, and construction documents for maintenance, repair, alteration, additions and new building projects. Work with in-house building designers and engineers in design development and final design.  Provide design and ACAD work, client consultation, project management and field work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, review, analyze, design and/or comment on project designs and or construction plans.
Prepare preliminary design work and design development prior to preparation of final design and working drawings.
Development of mechanical drawings/specifications, with mechanical technical staff and building design staff.
ACAD preparation of mechanical drawings.  Need to be versed with ACAD/Revit also an asset.
Provide technical advice and assistant on issues related to mechanical engineering  work closely with engineering and building design staff to coordinate the design of projects under the supervision of the Mechanical Engineer.
Provide review of mechanical shop drawings.
Coordinate technical resources for projects.
MINIMUM
Knowledge of building design of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection; construction detailing and specifications; working knowledge of mechanical design computer software and mechanical codes and ASHRAE Standards.
Ability to shift from project to project without loss of accuracy or time, delegate and administer project tasks, work independently and work with a variety of individuals and committees.
Bachelor of Science/Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
Minimum 2 year's experience.
Engineer-in-Training or eligibility for registration as a professional engineer or P.Eng.
PREFERRED
Currently certified and registered to practice Mechanical Engineering in the aforementioned perspectives.
