Job Description: The Community Mental Health Nurse is an integral member of CHS Mental Health and Addictions multidisciplinary team and provides specialized case management services to identified clients with chronic and enduring mental illness.  They carry an assigned caseload within the Psychiatric Rehabilitation program.  The Community Mental Health Nurse provides mental health consultation services to programs offered by the region.   This position functions independently with minimal supervision, and is supported by access to clinical and administrative supervision as well as the Chief Psychiatrist.  The position requires networking with other professionals and service providers.  Travel is required.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS) or Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Experience
Minimum 3 years recent experience in Mental Health related services
Minimum 1 year supervisory experience
Nursing experience working with clients with chronic mental illness
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Counseling skills
Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position
Ability to travel both within the region and provincially
Assessment skills
Time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, DSM IV, and The Family Services Act, Mental Health Approved Home Policy and Regulations, Social Assistance Program Regulations, Regional Health Policies, RPNAS Code of Ethics, and Rehabili
