NLSD #113 invites applications for the following permanent full-time position

MENTAL HEALTH CAPACITY BUILDING SCHOOL COORDINATOR

Sandy Bay is a community of over 1000 people on the eastern side of the divisions jurisdiction.  The town is located in the breath-taking beauty of the Precambrian Shield.  The waters of the local rivers and the rugged terrain provide great beauty and opportunities for marvellous fishing, hunting and outdoor activities.  
The School Coordinator reports to the Superintendent of Student Services.  The position is responsible for providing leadership and support to the overall objectives of the divisions initiatives.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
    Developing and implementing a plan that aligns to the divisions objectives;
    Ensuring timely submission of reports as required by the division;
    Liaising with school and division administration, stakeholders and community partners;
    Planning of resources;
    Providing accountability for the budget;
    Ensure best practices when determining mental health programming;
    Engaging key partners and stakeholders to ensure connections to mental health and addiction services and community resources
Applicants must have knowledge of mental health, wellness and prevention and child and youth development and who have awareness of the communitys economic, cultural and social environment.
