Description

Applications are invited for a permanent full-time Teacher at Kids in Motion Learning and Resource Centre in Moose Jaw, SK commencing January 7, 2019. The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor of Education degree and a valid Saskatchewan teachers certificate. Kids in Motion provides educational opportunities for children of all abilities. Experience with children with diverse needs is necessary. Experience teaching French is an asset. Kids in Motion supports the principles of a representative workforce and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.

Must be SPTRB registered.

 

Skills and Abilities

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
 - Provincial Teaching Certificate
 - Membership in a provincial or territorial teachers' association or federation
Additional Skills
 - Supervise teacher assistants
Specific Skills
 - Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations and field trips
 - Provide tutoring assistance
 - Prepare, administer and correct tests
 - Prepare courses for presentation to students according to approved curriculum
 - Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help
 - Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops
 - Lead students in activities to promote their physical, mental and social development and their school readiness
 - Identify childrens' individual learning needs
 - Evaluate the progress of students and discuss progress results with students, parents and school officials
 - Develop course materials and curriculum content
 - Assign and correct homework
