The Lighthouse Supported Living is an emergency shelter, supported living and affordable housing provider offering a range of services to people experiencing homelessness and poverty to help them overcome barriers and achieve self-sufficiency. Working from a street outreach van, Mobile Outreach Support Workers provide transportation for Lighthouse residents and shelter clients to facilitate access to services. Support Workers respond to calls to assist and transport or will actively seek to locate and engage homeless and street entrenched individuals for the purpose of assessing immediate need and helping access shelter, health and social services. The Mobile Outreach Service works within a consumer centred, holistic, community based, outreach model. A multi-agency, coordinated approach is fostered so as to maximize safe, timely access to the appropriate service.
