Job Description: Under the direction of the GEM program Manager, IP Managerfor CU/TCU, The MSW Social Worker has responsibiilty for professional psychosocial assessment and counselling in very complex situations with health conditions related specifically to Geriatrics . The Client group is primarily adults aged 65+.
Required Qualifications

Masters Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Experience
Experience working with Geriatric patient populations an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to assist and develop policies and procedures according to best practices
Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position
Other Information

Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.  HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.

Solid understanding of the social work role and of the Saskatoon Health Region philosopy, objectives and policies. Advanced assessment and intervention skills, utilizing a number of conceptual models, for work with individuals, families and groups Knowledge of resources/services availble to seniors within SHR and the province. Sound knowledge of social work ethics and standards of practice is required, along with professional judgment and initiative. Preference will be give to applicants with experience in medical social work and experience related to rehabilitation.
