SED Systems specializes in developing complex hardware and software systems for cable, telecommunication, satellite communications, and defense applications. SED operates out of a custom-built facility located at Innovation Place, adjacent to the U of S campus. SED is looking for a hard-working and reliable Custodian to provide general cleaning in an office/manufacturing facility. The Custodian works as a part of a small team carrying out a variety of tasks, while ensuring all standards are maintained throughout the building. This is a permanent full-time position and includes a schedule of 2:30 pm-10:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Sanitizing offices, washrooms and lunchrooms;
-Emptying garbage and recycling bins;
-Sweeping and vacuuming;
-Dusting and washing of walls, windows, baseboards, frames, railings, etc.;
-Ensuring all assigned tasks are completed safely and in a timely matter; and
-Other cleaning duties as required.
Requirements:
-This position will require bending, crouching, kneeling and standing for extended periods;
-Strong attention to detail is required;
-Previous cleaning experience is considered an asset;
-Knowledge of WHMIS procedures is considered an asset; and
-The individual must be trustworthy, punctual and able to work independently without supervision.
The ability to meet the requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program is mandatory. All candidates will be required to apply for and receive a Government Security Clearance.
