Reporting to the Executive Director of Communications and Client Service, an employee in this position is responsible for developing, recommending and implementing an Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Program necessary to provide a safe and healthy work environment for all staff. This employee will be WSAs expert on occupation health and safety, a leader, and promote a strong safety culture within WSA. The employee will provide guidance to management and staff on OH&S legislation, policies and safe work practice and will develop and oversee processes to reduce health and safety risks to as low as reasonably practicable.
You will work among a diverse and passionate team of professionals, both internal and external to WSA, in the fields of engineering, water quality, ecology, law, sociology, public policy, local governments that are leading this exciting challenge in our province.
The successful candidate should possess a degree or diploma in Occupation Health and Safety from a recognized institution, a certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and 6 years of experience in a water resource management and development environment.
