With the supervision and support of the Clinical Director, the Family Violence Outreach Counsellor ensures effective implementation of programs and interventions for victims of family violence.  The incumbent provides support in the form of intake, assessment, safety planning, counselling, client goal setting, group facilitation, advocacy and referral.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Degree in Social Work or related discipline with counselling experience.
* Knowledge of dimensions, dynamics and impacts of family violence.
* Demonstrated skill in counselling modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, etc.
* Skills in case management, communication and collaborating.
* Knowledge of community resources.
* Demonstrates a confidential, caring and supportive approach to client service.
* Incumbent develops and maintains effective interpersonal relationships within the agency and with community partners.
* Successful criminal record check with vulnerable sector query.
