Job Description: The Manager of Acute Care Services reports to the Executive Director of Acute Care  North East for the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Manager is accountable for strategic direction, leadership, management, program development and evaluation in the areas of Acute Care, Labs and Diagnostic Imaging and Pharmacy Services. The Manager is accountable for risk management, quality improvement and employee and patient safety within the areas stated. The Manager of Acute Care Services will also be expected, in partnership with the Quality Improvement office, to build a healthy and active LEAN culture of quality improvement within all the departments that report into to them.  

Qualifications:
             Eligibility for registration with the SRNA/RPNAS
             A degree in nursing is required, a Masters is preferred or working towards one. Minimum of three to five years of nursing experience with demonstrated clinical, administrative, organizational, excellent team player and communication skills. Two years in a clinical management position is also required.
             Experience working in a cross-cultural setting is preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
             Exceptional Human Resource Management skills
             The ability to do strategic planning and work plan development in a fast paced, complex environment
             Excellent management, leadership, organization and decision making skills
             Exceptional ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize responsibilities
             Knowledge of current national and provincial health care issues/trends developments
             Effective team leader able to build and maintain relationships based on trust and accountability
             Excellent verbal and written commun
