Description

As a member of the management team, the Manager participates directly in the decision making process that establishes overall college operation and performance levels. Reporting to the Vice President Academic, the ABE Manager is responsible for program management, which means; managing the implementation of the Colleges ABE program planning and development process; overseeing the administration and delivery of ABE programming, which includes supervision of staff; facilitating and coordinating training needs assessments for northern Saskatchewan in respect to ABE; managing the program budget process including contract administration, record keeping and reporting procedures; managing the program evaluation and monitoring process; participating in the preparation of the colleges annual report; and other duties as assigned.  

The qualifications for this position typically include; a Bachelors Degree with at least five years of related experience in the education field; knowledge of educational methodology and administration; knowledge of the principles and techniques of human resource management; and a practical knowledge of program funding, and budget development and administration.  A familiarity with the people and communities in northern Saskatchewan, as well as a thorough understanding of northern Saskatchewan Indigenous culture is a definite asset.  

The successful candidate will have effective verbal and written communication skills; strong leadership skills; a high degree of organizational skills; team building skills and ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders; a high degree of interpersonal skills; conceptual skills and analytical ability; effective decision making and problem solving skills; effective supervisory skills. Some travel will be required and a valid class 5 drivers license is required.
