Description

The Director, Business Development contributes to the growth of the company by driving new business. The position is responsible for building and overseeing sales initiatives, establishing key strategic partnerships and building upon the companys Canadian footprint. As Director, Business Development, you will be client facing and attend presentations to drive our presence in the Canadian market, pitching and closing C-level decision makers.
For this Business Development position, it is essential that you have had experience selling Market Research or similar services (e.g., Business Intelligence, Business Information, Market Intelligence, Insight, Reports, Data). Ideally, you will have had 5+ years experience as a research professional and have a hunger for new business!
In this role, you will report directly to the President, and you will be responsible for leading the sales process for our market research business. Targeting the Canadian market, you will work to design and execute sales plans. You will conduct lead generation, write proposals, handle consultative selling, build relationships with current clients and prospects and conduct sales presentations.
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of various quantitative and qualitative methodologies used in the research process.  A convincing and eloquent command of the English language with the ability to present materials in a professional and persuasive manner.  Hunter capabilities that include closing new accounts and expanding business within existing accounts.  Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at once. A strong team player, possessing strong planning and organizational skills.
Excellent PC skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud is considered an asset. Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate with individuals at senior levels.
