Autism Services, is looking for a professional who is passionate about working directly with individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) as a member of a team in a non-profit environment.
This is a one year term (maternity leave coverage) position, split between the Athabasca Health Authority and Saskatoon and area. The successful candidate will spend one (1) week per month in the communities in the Athabasca Health Authority, and the remainder of the hours will be spent in the Autism Services office in Saskatoon.
The Autism Consultant works directly with individuals, ages 0-19 presenting with ASD, and their families. This is a multifaceted position with intake, screening, coordination, family consultation, intervention program development and transition programming and community resources training.
The ideal candidate will have:
-a Masters Degree in clinical human service fields such as Psychology, Social Work, Speech Language Pathology or Occupational Therapy, with a well-developed behavioral background.
-clinical experience in the development, delivery and coordination of ASD specific treatment program plans for children and youth with ASD.
-a background in ASD assessment and intake, experience in working on multidisciplinary teams, coordination skills and family support experience.
-experience in the clinical and administrative supervision and support of direct service workers.
-experience in the development and delivery of ABA or IBI programs.
-strong leadership, collaborative, communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with other team members.
-thorough and current knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the community of agencies providing services to affected individuals and their families.
-good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Starting salary for this position is $30-32 per hour depending on education/experience.
