Description

The suitable candidate will have knowledge and abilities of the following:
    Assisting the client to identify strengths/interests, internal and external resources including potential support persons (ie. family members) to address identified criminogenic risk areas; and establishing/re-establishing attachments with family;
    Coordinating frequent and meaningful activities between the client, the family and other natural supports.
    Maintain weekly communication and collaborate with the participating agencies.
    Enable clients to get transporting to and from addictions, mental health or reporting appointments.
    Work to increase youth readiness to embrace plans and actions for positive change.
    Provide support to youth to make positive connections with community services.
    May conduct home visits and school visits to receive updates on behaviour, performance and attendance.
    Keep in confidence all file information with respect to the client.
    Support youth in strengthen their ties to their culture.

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
    Diploma in Social Work / Social Sciences or Psychology.
    2-4 years' experience working with youth preferred.
    Understanding of cultural diversity and community-based services.
    Previous community related experience a definite asset.
    Current CPR and First Aid Certificates considered an asset.
    Working knowledge of disability and wellness programs, applications, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of wellness.
    Demonstrated sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management.
    Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
    High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
    Proven organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
    Criminal Occurrence Security Check;
    Valid Drivers License;
