Description

Degree or diploma in Early Childhood or Social Work, Education or the social sciences. Experience working with young children in a
preschool setting would be helpful. Criminal record & vulnerable sector check required along with First Aide certificate and at least 3
character & job related references.
This is a position of considerable responsibility working in a specialized preschool for children with complex needs and their families.
The applicant will work under the supervision of senior staff. The period of training varies with the background and experience of the
individual. The job involves assisting senior staff in planning for and offering developmentally appropriate therapeutic and pre-academic
experiences daily to individual and small groups of young children. Confidentiality is required.
Duties include a)learn the philosophy and methods used at SCEP CENTRE; b)work under supervision of the Senior Professional Team in
general program planning and creating a pre-school environment with emphasis on building relationships, fostering communication and
enhancing learning through play and discovery; c)supervise children's activities with an emphasis on safety; d)keepes of the children's
progres e)participate in general program housekeeping and clean-up duties
