Description

Accountant Duties
-Prepare payroll
-Coordinate employee benefit premiums and program
-Maintain personnel files on all employees
-Accounts payable/Accounts Receivable
-Ensure controls are in place to protect financial data
-Complete month end
-Coordinate annual financial audit process and work with financial auditing firm.
Senior Administrative Assistant Duties
-Administrative support to Executive Director
-Makes recommendations to management and provides support, guidance and direction to others
-Schedule management
-Organizing internal and stakeholder meetings
-Participate in meetings which have sensitive and confidential HR, policy, budgetary and program issues
-Provide advise, regarding HR issues
-Respond to appropriate correspondence inquires
Specifications
-Attention to detail
-Works independently as well as with a team
-Must be able to multi task in a timely manner
-Complies with all safety, health and environmental polices, programs and standards
Requirements
-Post Secondary Diploma in Accounting/Business Admin, or relevant discipline
-2 years experience in Accounting/Administration
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Quickbooks
-Proven organizational and time management skills
-Administration experience in a non profit organization
-Experience working with deferral and/or provincial government funding, funding agreements and reports

Knowledge of First Nations governments, communities and cultures is a definite asset
