Description

This position reports to the Grounds Committee Chairperson. The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for all phases of golf course grounds care, maintenance, operations, grounds employee management and budget accountability.

Duties :  
    Take a leading role in developing and implementing procedures affecting the overall maintenance and improvement of the golf course.
    Develop an annual operating budget for maintenance of the golf course.
    Oversee and perform fertilizer/chemical applications, mowing and irrigation.
    Oversee and perform equipment repair and maintenance.
    Hire, train and schedule grounds maintenance staff according to YLGCC hiring procedures.
    Provide direct supervision of the grounds maintenance staff and maintain labour guidelines to ensure work is performed in a safe and productive manner.
    Attend and participate in YLGCC Board and Committee meetings as required.
    Participate in fundraising activities and other relevant Golf Course and Clubhouse activities.

Qualifications:
    A degree or diploma from a recognized turf program or equivalent.
    Possess and maintain a valid Saskatchewan drivers license.
    Valid pesticide and sprayer license.
    Knowledge of use and operating standards of relative equipment and tools used in golf course construction and maintenance work.
    Extensive irrigation systems and repairs experience.
    Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to work with budgets and train and supervise grounds maintenance staff.
    Prefer certification by the Canadian Golf Course Superintendent Association
