Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Production Manager for our Saskatoon Manufacturing Facility. The successful candidate will require a minimum of 10 years experience working in a steel fabrication business. They will have strong organizational and leadership skills and have the ability to work individually as well as part of a team. The selected candidate will have a positive attitude, be a fit with the Brandt team and leadership requirements, and be able to lead by example.

Responsibilities:

Liaising with Logistics, Dealers, Territory Managers, and Sales Managers on product availability
Working to continuously lower inventory levels
In conjunction with product and lean manufacturing experts, developing a system of point-of-use inventory with visual restocking queues
Working with the parts department to maintain adequate parts inventory
Managing all aspects of the receiving department in regards to inventory entering the yard
Responsible for all aspects of inventory control including year-end counts
Managing net available reports and react to requirements as required
Forecasting whole good options based on demand ensuring the options and accessories are available as required. Working to establish an improved system to remove the manual portion of this process
Working with engineering and shipping to constantly improve the truck load efficiencies



Required Skills and Experience:

Prior management experience and a sound understanding of business practices is required
Strong working knowledge of steel fabrication and machine shop practices is required
Engineering background is considered an asset
Must have training and experience with Lean manufacturing
Knowledgeable in industrial equipment and has an understanding of work flow and constraints theories
Must have a high degree of resourcefulness and adaptability
Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
Must be highly motivated and be able to lead by example
