Description

Under the direction of the Technical Services Director, the Emergency Response Plan Coordinator (ERPC) develops, implements and maintains a comprehensive program to monitor and report on emergency preparedness and response issues amongst the YTC member First Nations; works with our member First Nations and other concerned parties to develop, test and assist with the implementation and ongoing evaluation of community all hazard emergency response plans; and increases the awareness and concern for emergency planning amongst YTC member First Nations.
Duties
a)    Assessing the Emergency Response needs of each First Nation;
b)    Developing in consultation with each First Nation a comprehensive emergency response strategy based on each First Nation's needs;
c)    Scheduling work to meet the goals of each First Nation's comprehensive health work plan and adjusting that schedule when either emergencies or special needs arise;
d)    Maintaining an annual review process for emergency response plans and ensure the First Nations are supported in following through with updates.
e)    Assisting with training opportunities related to emergency response, First Aid/CPR and First Responders.
Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
    The ERPC must have a relevant diploma or degree and a minimum of 2 years of pertinent experience;
    Experience working with a First Nations organization and familiarity with First Nations culture, history and governance is considered an asset
    Instructor training in First Aid/CPR and/or First Responders is an asset.
