PARTNERS Family Services is accepting applications for the position of Youth Counsellor. This is a permanent position with 32.5 hours per week
Requirements:
- 4 year degree required - BSW, BISW, CYW, or Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (or similar)
- Minimum 2 years working with children, youth and families in clinical or community setting
-Valid First Aid/CPR
-Valid Class 5 SK Driver's Licence
- Clear driver's abstract
- Use of personal vehicle with $2 million dollars liability insurance
The Youth Counsellor reports directly to the Support Services Coordinator and is responsible for the following:
-Provide intake, advocacy and referrals for youth clients in the areas of family issues, mental health, housing, etc and access to resources
-Provide ongoing counselling services to youth 12-24 years of age who are experiencing challenges in the areas of mental health, family disharmony, social struggles, etc
- Provide services both in office and in client's home community
-Provide case coordination and support to families whose children/youth are accessing multiple services
- Ensure case plans and files are maintained to SASW and PFS standards
-Ensure that statistics are compiled, entered and submitted to the Executive Director monthly and quarterly
-Provide intake, crisis counselling, short term counselling, advocacy and referrals for drop in clients particularly in the areas of family issues, parenting concerns and access to resources
-Work with all team members to ensure that all PFS programs expectations are fully met
