Description

Summary
The Release Operating Representative is responsible for a wide variety of clerical and technical duties to ensure the timely and accurate processing of customs releases for various types of shipments. This includes but not limited to data entry, researching and working with various trade chain partners (clients, carriers, vendors, customs, and other Cole branches) to affect the Customs release and final accounting of customs entries.
Job Duties
    Data entry and transposing of invoice information for various shipments.
    Preparing and submitting customs entries electronically to CBSA and other government departments (CFIA, NrCan etc.).
    Tracking shipments routinely to ensure customs release or acceptance or to provide information to clients, carriers, etc. Monitoring entries for status  release, rejects, exceptions
    Troubleshooting rejects on customs entries, for ACROSS and CADEX.
    Accurate billing/invoicing of entries
    Processing refusals to carriers for shipments that are not Cole clients.
    Monitor portals on a regular basis to ensure the team is caught up with releases and final accounting
    Accurate logging of new parts and other exceptions for TSRs to handle
Requirements
    High school diploma or GED, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
    1-2 years of direct work experience in a customs brokerage firm.
    Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures and asset.
    Working knowledge of customs and freight terms an asset.
    Superior typing skills with high accuracy rate. Strong computer skills with ability to use email.
    Must be to deal with pressure and deadlines, utilizing time management effectively.
    Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization, clients.
    Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form.
    Strong customer service orientation.
    Ability to work with minimal supervision
